43nd Annual Conference: Exhibitor Information

The Society for American Music invites you to exhibit at our upcoming conference to be held at the Marriott Chateau Champlain, 22-26 March 2017. Those who attend our conference have many interests in American music, but they teach and perform in all areas of music and are always interested in new publications of scholarly works, textbooks, scores, and recordings. Many make library selections for their universities. With reduced travel funds at colleges and universities, faculty travel is often limited to one conference each year. We look forward to providing our attendees with a comprehensive display of the most recent books, periodicals, sound recordings, videos, software, CD-ROMs, and musical instruments.

Note: Publishers who are unable to attend, but wish to have their titles exhibited should contact The Scholar's Choice. They have provided a combined book exhibit at our conferences for many years and are familiar with our discipline and conference attendees. If you only have one or a few titles, they can generate sales and will also take orders. Contact Mary Lynn Howe by email or phone (585-262-2048 x.111).

Exhibiting at the Conference  

The exhibit area will be in Cartier Ballroom B. The exhibits will be open Thursday morning through Saturday late afternoon. It is staffed at all times, and free coffee is provided. The Exhibit Room is where attendees congregate and network, thus providing maximum exposure for exhibitors. (Download the floor plan

Rates: $225.00 for the first table; $125.00 for each additional table.

All exhibitors will receive a listing on the Society's web site, a listing in the printed program, and one complementary registration to the conference. Internet connections and electrical service can be obtained directly from the hotel. Contact information will be provided upon receipt of completed reservation form.

SHIPMENTS SHOULD ARRIVE ON FRIDAY (3/17) OR MONDAY (3/20) BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8AM AND 3:30PM.

The Marriott does not charge package handling fees.  Please use the following shipping label for your shipments: Download. Please note that electronic shipping slip will not work in Canada. A hand-written shipping slip with a proper account number along with a complete Customs form is required for all shipments.

Conference Web Page

Banner Ad ($150 with exhibit registration - complimentary for affiliate members): An interactive banner located at the bottom of the main conference home page that cycles among advertisers. The ad displays for seven seconds each time it is called. Please provide a banner image (.jpg, size 600 x 110 pixels) and URL. Banner Ads are accepted anytime and will display through March 25, 2017.
